First blog, first artist. Who’s going to feature? No question – my favourite band, Radiohead.
How to Disappear Completely is a momentous song. Written about their experience of playing Glastonbury 1997, it really is a defining moment in Radiohead’s back catalogue.
What’s this song’s moment? For me, it comes in the final furlong of the song, at five mins 20 seconds (5:20) After 15 seconds of chaos – dischordant, random strings, there’s a moment of clarity, harmony and realisation as the main theme returns.
Glorious.
Watch the video on YouTube – the magical moment is 5:23 on this one – or buy the song on iTunes.
